Bi-monthly seminars
NANSV hosts live "Lunch and Learn"
sessions featuring speakers on a range of nonprofit governance, leadership, and management topics. Subject matter experts speak on everything from strategic planning and board engagement to donor development. Sessions are open to all, and members get priority when registering so they don't miss out on these great educational programs. These sessions are also a great opportunity to network with your peers!
Special events
NANSV periodically holds social and educational events outside of our regular bi-monthly meetings. For example, during the Covid-19 pandemic, we offered special programming to help nonprofits navigate the crisis. We're looking at other ways to engage our region's nonprofits and our business and academic partners, such as "ask an expert" forums, town halls, and happy hours. Contact us today and let us know what would benefit you the most!
Annual Symposium
Annual Symposium
Our signature event is offered in conjunction
with Shenandoah University and the Community Foundation of the Northern Shenandoah Valley (CFNSV). Over 200 professionals from the nonprofit and business community attend the conference to network, listen to expert speakers, and take advantage of skill-building breakout sessions. The Symposium is an excellent opportunity to meet your peers and learn from the best in the field. It is open to everyone. Alliance members get priority registration for the event to ensure they are able to participate.
On-line resources
On-line resources
Nonprofits, consultants, educators, and others have a wealth of knowledge that can benefit all of us. NANSV's on-line, curated Resource Library is the place to go to find what others are thinking and doing. You'll see best practices, find out what's new in the field, and learn from others' diverse experiences. Members can submit articles, tools, etc., and share their successes and innovations with their peers in the community. Also, check out our blog
(also open to member submissions), and we hope to have a discussion forum up and running in the near future!

NANSV is working hard to develop our partner network, including local businesses, nonprofit training providers and consultants, and our sister nonprofit associations. In doing so, we aim to increase integration of the local nonprofit and business communities, expand the breadth and d epth of educational opportunities for our region's nonprofits, and make it easier to get professional guidance and support when needed. As we continue to mature, look for business-to-nonprofit member discounts, as well as special pricing for partner resources, events, etc.
